Use this
directory to find a member of the Building Bridges Initiative.
To see
all of the members of the Initiative listed alphabetically by last
name, click on 'Show All' at the bottom of the page.
To see
all members of the Initiative listed alphabetically by project
click the 'Sort By Location' box and then click on 'Show All'.
To search
the database on one or more variables, there are five options: First Name,
Last Name, Project Location, State, and Country. For each variable there
are three search operators that have been provided in the drop down lists:=, Like, and Contains.
Use =
to search
for a specific variable that you know. For example, if you know that the
person you are looking for is in Wisconsin, go to the State box, use the
drop down list to select ‘=’ and enter ‘WI’ in the field.
Press ‘Search.’ You will see a list of all Initiative members in
Wisconsin.
Use Like
to search
for a variable for which you know the first few letters, but not the rest
of the spelling or name. For example, if you are looking for someone whose
name begins with Kath, but might be spelled Kathryn, Kathleen, or Katheryn,
go to the Name box, use the drop down list to select ‘Like’ and enter
‘Kath%’ in the name field. Remember to use the ‘%’ sign in this
type of search. Then press ‘Search’ and all participants with first
names that begin with Kath will be displayed.
Use Contains
to search
for a variable for which you know some of the letters, but not the rest of
the spelling. For example, if you are looking for one of the projects at a
university that contains the words New York, go to the Project Location
box, use the drop down list to select ‘Contains' and enter ‘New York’
in the field. Then press ‘Search’ and all projects with New York in
the name will be displayed.
