Resources and Approaches for Philanthropy and Volunteerism
The Kellogg Foundation defines philanthropy as the giving of time,
money, and know-how to advance the common good. Philanthropy and
volunteerism grant making at the W. K. Kellogg Foundation is aimed at
increasing the ranks of new givers and nurturing emerging forms of
philanthropy. Through program activities, the Foundation seeks to unleash resources
by supporting the emergence of new leaders and donors, creating and
sharing knowledge, and building tools that advance the effectiveness of
the philanthropic sector.

This work of unleashing new resources involves fostering numerous types
of interconnections among the groups. The aim is to create a marketplace
of ideas, techniques, and actions supported by collaborative leadership
efforts.
The challenge is to broker ideas, relationships, and opportunities. The
Foundation
hopes that strengthening and connecting groups of individuals and
organizations will result in improved knowledge and new philanthropic
resources that will greatly increase giving and volunteerism in the coming
years. The objective is to multiply resources – both financial and human –
that are dedicated to improving the collective lives of citizens and
advancing the common good. Visit the
