W. K. Kellogg Foundation Unleashing Resources Strategy

The Unleashing Resources strategy is a key element in the W. K. Kellogg Foundation's (WKKF) Philanthropy and Volunteerism (P&V) strategic plan and vision of "A mutually responsible and just society in which all contribute to the common good through volunteering and philanthropy." The purpose of the Unleashing Resources initiative is to strengthen and connect new leaders, donors, and emerging forms of philanthropy and volunteerism. It is focused on building, identifying, and advancing new and creative approaches that stimulate people and organizations to give time, money, and know-how.

CenterPoint Institute's work within the Unleashing Resources initiative has been focused on the Build Tools for Nonprofit Sustainability and Innovative Giving approach. Within the approach is a cluster of approximately 20 grants, collectively named the "Tools Cluster." Over the course of four years, CenterPoint planned, organized, implemented, and evaluated four networking and learning conferences for the Tools Cluster grantees and a fifth conference for Tools Cluster grantees and Cultures of Giving Grantees -  another Kellogg Foundation cluster. In total, 296 participants from 48 organizations attended the conferences.

CenterPoint also managed the distribution, tracking, and reporting of over $250,000 in four "Venture Fund" programs - a series of small grants that fostered collaboration among Tools Cluster grantees.
