W. K. Kellogg Foundation
National Leadership in Action Award

As part of the Unleashing Resources strategy, the W. K. Kellogg Foundation is committed to encouraging broad participation in philanthropy - by elevating innovative leadership practices within
all populations and by expanding the traditional view of what "philanthropy" means.

The W. K. Kellogg Foundation National Leadership in Action Award was established to recognize, celebrate, and promote innovative approaches that connect resources of time, money, and know-how to the philanthropic work of communities of color. Winning organizations received a $50,000 grant and a commissioned award piece.

CenterPoint developed and implemented the first year's award program (2004-2005): worked with a selection committee, developed criteria, communicated with nominees, commissioned the original artwork award pieces, and arranged the award ceremony.
