Jessica Schumacher
Project
Manager
Jessica Schumacher is Project Manager at CenterPoint. Her areas of
expertise include fund development, conference and event planning, group
facilitation, strategic planning, and research. Although Jessica
officially joined the team at CenterPoint in 2005, she has been involved
in the company’s work since before she could walk, helping her mother
Katie, President and CEO of CenterPoint, with various projects. She has
fond memories of supporting W.K. Kellogg Foundations meetings in Huston,
TX and Buenos Aries, Argentina as well as interning at the Salzburg
Seminar in Salzburg, Austria.
Jessica’s interest in nonprofits was further strengthened through
volunteer work at YMCA Camp Duncan in Illinois, as a voice and piano
teacher with Music Mentors -- a volunteer program at the University of
Kansas, and serving as a Girl Scout leader for a Brownie troop in
Lawrence, KS.
In addition to volunteering, Jessica chose a course of study at the
University of Kansas that would prepare her for work with nonprofits and
communities. She double-majored in Social Psychology and Community
Leadership and Development and designed, conducted, and analyzed the
data from a study of pro-social behavior.
Jessica is co-owner and trainer of Texas, a Chocolate Lab serving as
CenterPoint’s Director of Interoffice Communication (mail carrier) and
Official Greeter.
